As part of his ongoing efforts to boost community development for constituents, Tonkolili District lawmaker, Hon. Aruna Papay Larkoh has, on January 30th, 2025, handed over building materials and fiscal cash worth millions in local currency for the continuation of the ongoing construction of a multipurpose hall in the Masokoray township.

Masokoray is in Kholifa Rowalla Chiefdom, Tonkolili District, Northern Sierra Leone.

The items donated to the community include eighteen (18) bundles of zinc, corner ridge, packets of roofing nails, bags of cement, and others worth millions in new Leones.

Also, the opposition lawmaker dashed fiscal cash, which he says was his support to the community in the area of food for the workers.

Handing over the items at the Masokoray Community Centre, Hon. Larkoh reminded the community of the promises he made during his campaigns in 2023 to ensure the community owns a multipurpose hall if he becomes a lawmaker. As a fulfilment of his promise, he said he started the project immediately after he was sworn in.

Though the project involves a huge amount of money, Larkoh said that with the support of his party, the All People's Congress, the community, and his team, the project will soon be completed. He called on the community, especially the youths, to take ownership of the building project and ensure they fully cooperated for its completion.

"Do not personalise the building materials. Don't sell them for personal gains," Hon. Larkoh warned community members.

As lawmakers, he said they can't help everyone at the same time, but with the support and prayers of their people, Larkoh said they would end up leaving indelible marks and creating an impact. He urged the residents to remain patient, pray, and support the All People's Congress party always.

On behalf of the Masokoray Community, Pa Sanpha Koroma, the Town Chief lavished praises on Hon. Larkoh and described him as a grateful politician who pays back.

"The Masokoray Community is proud of you, and we will continue to pray for you to grow more and more in the political sphere," the Town Chief said.

Koroma called on the community to embrace Hon. Larkoh, the APC, and the building project in good faith.

Hon. Papay Larkoh, the town chief said, is their son, and they will always support him.

Marie Kalokoh, the Chairlady, expressed happiness on behalf of Masokoray women and lauded the APC MP.

In over fifty years of marrying and living in the Masokoray Community, the Chairlady said this is her first time witnessing a politician financially supporting such a huge project. She thanked the lawmaker and prayed for her late parents. As a community, she said they will monitor the project until it's successfully done.

Several community stakeholders, Ward Committee members, as well as members of the All People's Congress Party in the area, made meaningful statements all centred around praises for the lawmaker and the party.

The official handing-over of the building materials to the community and singing of songs of praise to the Member of Parliament and his team climaxed the historic occasion.
