Freetown, Sierra Leone – Nigerian comic star and viral skitmaker, Chukwuebuka Emmanuel Amuzie, popularly known as Brain Jotter, is officially confirmed to perform at the highly anticipated ECOFEST 2024. This announcement has stirred excitement among fans as the comedian prepares to make his first-ever appearance in Sierra Leone.
Hawa Turay, the newly appointed CEO of ECOFEST, broke the news on social media, teasing the audience about what to expect. “Brain Jotter needs no introduction! We're thrilled to welcome him for his debut performance in Sierra Leone on December 20th, as part of ECOFEST 2024,” Turay announced.
Brain Jotter, born on February 5, 1996, has built a solid reputation as a comedian, content creator, and philanthropist. His comedic journey began during his university days, where he entertained audiences at local shows across Nigeria. However, his big break came in 2020 when his short, humorous skits on Instagram exploded in popularity, propelling him to stardom and earning him millions of followers.
Over the years, Brain Jotter has collaborated with notable figures in the Nigerian entertainment industry, including Mr. Funny, Don Jazzy, and Bovi. He is also known for popularizing the viral "Gwo Gwo Dance Challenge," which revived interest in Mike Ejeagha’s classic song, Ka Esi Le Onye Isi Oche.
ECOFEST 2024, which will take place at the heart of Freetown, promises a dynamic mix of music, culture, and entertainment. The two-day extravaganza kicks off on December 20 with Salone Culinary Delights, a culinary showcase, alongside the newly introduced Miss ECOFEST beauty pageant. The second day will feature a high-energy competition among DJs and hypemen, followed by a grand musical concert and jam session.
The inclusion of Brain Jotter in this year’s lineup marks a thrilling addition, further raising expectations for the festival. ECOFEST—an annual celebration of the arts in the ECOWAS region—has become a major platform for showcasing both rising and established talent. By gathering artists from across West Africa, the festival embodies the cultural diversity and unity of the region.
With fresh innovations under Turay’s leadership and the excitement surrounding Brain Jotter’s debut in Sierra Leone, ECOFEST 2024 is shaping up to be one of the festival's most unforgettable editions yet.
