Internal Affairs Minister Rtd Brig Taluva Issues Strong Warning to Commercial Drivers

Retired Brigadier Taluva, the Minister of Internal Affairs, has issued a resolute caution to commercial drivers, Keh Keh riders, and bike riders in Freetown, emphasizing the critical importance of adhering to traffic regulations and rules.


The Minister's communication is part of a renewed endeavor to uphold discipline on the city's roads and guarantee the safety of all citizens. "Effective immediately until the 31st of August, all breakdown vehicles causing obstructions along Freetown's streets must be promptly cleared," the Minister firmly stated. He underscored that no street garages would be tolerated during this period. This step is aimed at mitigating traffic congestion and preventing unwarranted disruptions to vehicular movement.


Additionally, the Minister directly addressed bike riders, urging them not to occupy Central Business District (CBD) junctions. This directive is instrumental in preserving seamless traffic circulation in pivotal areas of the city and minimizing potential hazards arising from improper parking.


The Minister extended his caution to commercial drivers and Keh Keh riders, urging them to uphold traffic rules. He emphasized the significance of adhering to speed limits, obeying traffic signals, and observing other regulations to ensure the well-being of passengers, pedestrians, and fellow road users.
